University Coat of Arms
The University of Strathclyde, based in Glasgow was founded in 1796 as the Andersonian Institute. It received its its royal charter in 1964 as the UK's first technological university.

LGBT societies

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender LGBT Group, Strathclyde University was formerly a member of the LGBT Consortium[1]
