South Ayrshire is a council area in Scotland. It was created in 1996, replacing the Kyle and Carrick district in the former Strathclyde region. The largest town is Ayr.

The painter Robert MacBryde was born in Maybole in 1913.
Ayrshire LGBT is a group for LGBT people in Ayrshire.[1]
