Gabriel Lawrence, a milkman, widow and father, was tried at the Old Bailey for the crime of sodomy with Thomas Newton aged 30 after a raid on the House of Margaret Clap, a Molly House.

Gabriel Lawrence was hanged on 9 May 1726 at Tyburn (with William Griffin, and Thomas Wright) and then taken to Surgeon’s Hall to be dissected.

Thomas Newton also brought charges against William Griffin, Thomas Wright and William Brown.
