East Riding of Yorkshire
From LGBT Archive
Yorkshire to retain the ancient title of "riding". After 1974 most of the historic East Riding formed part of the new county of Humberside, but this was abolished in 1996 and the East Riding resurrected but with somewhat different boundaries to the original East Riding. The East Riding is now a unitary authority; the ceremonial county of the same name also includes Kingston upon Hull. Towns within the unitary authority include Beverley (the county town), Bridlington and Goole.
There was a Hull / North Humberside CHE group in the 1970s.
An LGBT Sexual Health Conference for the East Riding and Hull was held in December 2009.
