Scotland. It is Scotland's third largest city, and a main centre for tne North Sea oil industry. The city is a separate council area, and was formerly part of Aberdeenshire and subsequently the Grampian Region.
The University of Aberdeen was founded in 1495.
Rev Scott Rennie was born in Aberdeen in 1972 and is now minister of Queens Cross Church there.
