Trinity College Dublin, founded 1592, is the sole college of the University of Dublin. It was long considered as a Protestant institution, and at one time the Catholic Church required its members to seek permission from the Archbishop if they wished to attend it.
The college's principal buildings are in the centre of the City of Dublin. The Old Library is one of Ireland's biggest tourist attractions.

The College's Oscar Wilde Centre incorporates Wilde's birthplace, which is being restored and furnished in the 1850s style.[1]
