The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence are part of a worldwide order of queer men and women of all sexualities. They are noted for wearing nuns' habits at public events.

The order was formed around 1979 in response to attacks on the queer community by fundamentalist religious organisations, its tenets are:

  • The expiation of stigmatic guilt, and
  • The promulgation of universal joy.[1]

The order is devoted to community service, ministry and outreach work, and to promoting human rights and respect for diversity.[2]

The London branch of the order, re-formed in 2007, is the London House of Common Sluts SPI,[3]
