South Wales Police (Welsh: Heddlu De Cymru) is a police force covering most of the historic county of Glamorgan in South Wales. It was formed in 1969, and its boundaries were re-drawn in 1974 to cover the new counties of Mid Glamorgan, South Glamorgan and West Glamorgan. Following a further local government reorganisation it now covers the districts of Bridgend, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Neath Port Talbot, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, and the Vale of Glamorgan.
The South Wales Police Gay Staff Network was relaunched in March 2016 as the South Wales Police LGBT Network.[1]
