Lord Alfred Douglas (Alfred Bruce Douglas 1870–1945, referred to as Bosie) was a poet, better known as the lover of Oscar Wilde.
Lord Alfred was the third son of John Douglas, 9th Marquess of Queensberry. He was educated at Winchester College and studied at Magdalen College, Oxford, but did not take a degree. In 1891, while he was still an undergraduate, his cousin Lionel Johnson introduced him to Oscar Wilde, who was by then a successful author. They began a torrid affair, which was to lead to Wilde's downfall.
