Jeffrey Weeks
Jeffrey Weeks (born in Rhondda, 1945) is a British sociologist, historian and gay activist.

He joined the Gay Liberation Front in 1970, and was a founder member of Gay Left.[1]

His works include:

  • Coming Out: Homosexual Politics in Britain from the Nineteenth Century to the Present, Quartet Books 1977; 2nd revised edition, with new chapter and bibliography, 1990
  • Between the Acts. Lives of Homosexual Men 1885-1967 (with Kevin Porter), Routledge, 1990; 2nd edition, with new Preface, Rivers Oram Press, 1998.

He was Executive Dean of Arts and Human Sciences at London South Bank University from 2003 to 2008.

He was listed number 6 in the Pinc List, 2015
