Andy Fitchet is a vicar in Andover, Hampshire. He had to leave the Baptist Church when he came out as gay. He now preaches at the Methodist Church in Bridge Street, Andover. In 2017 he stood as a Labour candidate in the General Election for the North West Hampshire constituency. He was second, polling 13,792 votes (23.5 % of votes cast): the highest Labour vote in the constituency since it was created in 1983 [1]. He stood again for Labour in the 2024 General Election polling 14,482 (28.5% of votes cast) in North West Hampshire.
