Antrim and Newtownabbey (red)
Antrim and Newtownabbey is a local government district and borough in Northern Ireland as from 1 April 2015. It corresponds to two previous local government districts, the Borough of Antrim (comprising the town of Antrim and the surrounding area) and the Borough of Newtownabbey. The main town is Antrim.

LGBT history

In 2014 a controversy arose in Newtownabbey, when a local Christian-owned bakery, Ashers Baking Company, refused to supply a cake featuring the Sesame Street puppets, Bert and Ernie, with a slogan supporting same-sex marriage.[1]
