Chelmsford is the county town of Essex and also the name of the surrounding local government district, which became a city in 2012.LGBT history
There was a Chelmsford GLF in 1972.
Lord Black of Brentwood was born in Chelmsford.
The Chelmsford Gay Day, first held in 2003, was re-branded Essex Pride in 2009.[1]
