Halton is a unitary authority in Cheshire. It includes the towns of Runcorn (historically part of Cheshire), and Widnes (historically part of Lancashire). Halton, together with the five metropolitan boroughs of Merseyside, constitutes the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.LGBT history
