Shirley Pierce is a teacher.

She was included under "Unsung heroes" in the Independent on Sunday's Pink List 2008. The citation said:

"Shirley Pierce was bullied as a teacher and brought a pioneering case against her school, which led to new employment laws being passed. The barrister who argued the case against her in court was Cherie Booth. "[1]
