East Kilbride (Scottish Gaelic: Cille Bhrìghde an Ear) is the largest town in South Lanarkshire. It was designated as Scotland's first New Town in 1947. Between 1975 and 1996 it was previously a local government district in the Strathclyde region.

LGBT history

For LGBT History Month 2016, the writer Zoë Strachan led a writing workshop at East Kilbride Arts Centre.[1]
