The Nationwide Festival of Light was a movement by British Christians concerned about the so-called "permissive society". Among its organisers was Mary Whitehouse. Highlights of the movement were an initial rally in the Central Hall Westminster on 9 Septembe 1971, which was massively disrupted by the Gay Liberation Front and a mass rally in Trafalgar Square later that month.
