Michael Craig-Martin
Michael Craig-Martin (born 1941) is a conceptual artist and painter. He is noted for his fostering of the Young British Artists, and for his conceptual artwork, An Oak Tree. Hi was born in Ireland and grew up in Washington DC.[2] He married in 1963 and had a daughter, but has lived as a gay man since the 70s.[3]
His entry in the Pink List 2000 said:
- "As Millard Professor of Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, Michael Craig-Martin, 58, has helped nurture the Sensation! generation of British artists. An acclaimed artist in his own right, his works are exhibited in Tate Britain's "Intelligence: New British Art 2000" collection."[4]
