The LGB Alliance (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Alliance) was set up in 2019 and believe that attempts to introduce confusion between biological sex and the notion of gender are harming LGB people, as well as transgender people.

Their campaign states We believe it’s wrong for children to be labelled masculine or feminine on the basis of clothing or play/activity preferences and in some cases to be led to believe that they might be ‘trapped in the wrong body.' These rigid gender definitions are deeply regressive and could possibly encourage body dysphoria. The numbers of children, particularly girls, seeking help has increased at an alarming rate. [1]

In 2020 the goals of the Alliance were: 1. Press Pause on Gender Recognition Reform Bill Scotland, 2. Stopping the teaching of gender identity in schools, 3. Get fair representation in all government discussions on LGB issues, 4. Highlight the dangers of medicalising “gender non-conforming” children [2]. In October 2021 the LGB Alliance held its first major national conference in London.Bev Jackson is one of the founders of the organisation.
