Michael Leonard, born 1933, is an artist.

He was born in India to British parents. In 1945 he returned to England to complete his education. After National Service he studied Commercial Design and Illustration at St Martin’s School of Art in London, and then worked as a freelance illustrator. From the 1970s onwards he worked as a painter, producing portraits and studies of the male nude.[1]

He was commissioned to paint a 60th birthday portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, now in the National Gallery.
