Don't forget to wear purple

Spirit Day is celebrated on the 19th of October, when people are encouraged to wear purple to show solidarity and support to young LGB&T people. It recalls the colour purple representing "spirit" in the rainbow flag. Spirit Day was created in 2010 by the Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan. In the UK, Spirit Day is being marked by the Lesbian & Gay Foundation.[1]
