VGL, the National LGBT Volunteers Network is an online resource, created in 2012 by Jonathan Harbourne, which matches enthusiastic and talented LGBT people to major sporting and cultural events and organisations. The aim is to develop an LGBT talent pool ready for the London 2018 Gay Games, but also to cover many national events in the run-up to 2018.
VGL is essentially a website, where organisations can put in the details of their events, and volunteers can search for events as well as entering details of their "volunteering CV". The CV will enable volunteers' experience to be recognised and used, not only to best advantage by organisations, but to provide fulfilling opportunities for the volunteer.
