Leeds is a city in West Yorkshire, historically the main industrial centre of the West Riding, and originally owing its prosperity to the wool industry.

There are plans to create an official Gay Quarter as has happened in Manchester and Liverpool.[1]

Leeds Pride, held in August, is the biggest LGBT Pride event in Yorkshire. It has been celebrated since 2006.

Local LGBT organisations include:

All Hallows Church is an Anglican church providing a special welcome to LGBT people.

LGBT sports clubs include the Yorkshire Terriers FC.
