Jackie Green is a transgender beauty queen. Born Jack in 1993, having had treatment at the age of 12 to prevent the onset of puberty, she had the seven-hour gender reassignment operation in Thailand on her 16th birthday. She was subsequently the first trans person to enter the Miss England beauty contest [1].
She was ranked number 8 in the Pink List 2013. The citation said:
- "Green first came to our attention in a BBC3 documentary which followed her attempt to win the title Miss England 2012. Green was the first trans woman to enter the competition and has since stood up for trans rights, charities supporting gender variant children, and Trans Media Watch."[2]
