CHEK (CHE Kingston) was a CHE group in Kingston upon Thames. It was founded in 1977 (or 1978) following the collapse of the Surbiton Group. It met in a a pub in Norbiton, off the Cambridge Road. A highlight of the year was the annual boat trip known as "CHEKABOARD". Membership rose to about 300 and there were some women-only events.[1]
In 1983 it merged with CHERP (CHE Richmond and Putney), to form KRAGS (Kingston and Richmond Area Gay Society).[2]
