The Penshaw Monument

Sunderland is a city and metropolitan borough in Tyne and Wear, situated at the mouth of the Rive Wear. As well as Sunderland itself, the city also includes the towns of Hetton-le-Hole, Houghton-le-Spring and Washington.

LGBT history

Sunderland Pride is held in September.[1][2]

There was a "Sunderland" page on the former NE Gayscene website.[3]

A group called LGBT Sunderland was at one time listed as a member of the LGBT Consortium.
