Location of West Lothian within Scotland

West Lothian is a council area in Scotland, within the former Lothian region. The earlier county of West Lothian was at one time called Linlithgowshire. The largest town is Livingston.

LGBT history

In 2005, an independent councillor, Duncan Maclean, tried to get civil partnership ceremonies banned from registry offices and other venues in West Lothian.[1]
