Derby is a city in the East Midlands. It is a unitary authority, within the ceremonial county of Derbyshire. It was an important centre for the railway industry, and is still a major industrial centre.
LGBT history
In the 1970s there were a GLF group and a CHE group, and there was a gay club in the village of Shardlow, six miles away.

Panthers RFC is a local gay inclusive rugby club.
Curzons, on Curzon Street, is Derby's only gay nightclub.
