The Black Country is an area in the West Midlands roughly corresponding to the current boroughs of Dudley, Sandwell, and Walsall. The name dates from the 1840s and is believed to refer to the black soot from heavy industries that covered the area.
LGBT history
There was a Black Country / Walsall CHE Group at one time.
Wolverhampton and Black Country Pride was held in July 2012.[1]
