St Edmundsbury is a local government district in Suffolk, containing the town of Bury St Edmunds and surrounding villages. Bury St Edmunds Cathedral is the seat of the Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. In 2011, St Edmundsbury Borough Council and Forest Heath District Council agreed to have a shared chief executive and combined workforces.[1]
