Northumberland is the most northerly county in England. It is a unitary authority - that is there is a county council but no district councils.

Northumberland Police covers the counties of Northumberland and Tyne and Wear.

LGBT history

Northumberland County Council is a Stonewall Diversity Champion.[1]
