Candy Barl ogo

The Candy Bar was a lesbian bar in Carlisle Street, Soho. It was run "by girls, for girls" and claimed to be the only exclusively lesbian bar in Soho.

It was launched by Kim Lucas in 1996. Kim painted the walls pink and introduced lap dancers and pole dancers.[1] Since 2011 it has been part of the Ku Bar group, run by Gary Henshaw.

In 2013 it won "venue of the year" in the G3 Awards.

In 2013 it was announced that it would close because of an increase in rents.[2]
