The Gay Police Association was an organisation representing lesbian and gay police officers in all 52 police forces in the UK. It was founded in 1990 as LAGPA (Lesbian And Gay Police Association).
Following an Extraordinary General Meeting of the national GPA held on 24th February 2014, the membership voted by more than two-thirds majority (in accordance with article 13 of the constitution) to wind-up the national GPA.[1]
In March 2014, it was decided to form a new organisation, the National LGBT Police Network
