The London Spikers Volleyball Club began as a drop-in play session at Queen mother sports centre, Victoria, London on Sunday afternoons from October 1995. The organiser/founder Robbie Lagonsin decided to name the developing club Spiker Studs Volleyball Club.

In 1999, the club changed/updated its name to "London Spikers Volleyball Club". It has since changed again to "London Spikers Knights Volleyball Club".
