Witney is a town in West Oxfordshire, noted for the manufacture of blankets since the middle ages.

The artist Andrew Logan was born in Witney in 1945.
In 1912 the Over the Rainbow Night was started in the Butchers Arms in Corn Street as a regular monthly gay night.[1]
