Warwickshire Pride is the name of the Pride festival for Warwickshire, and also of thr Warwickshire LGBT organisation previously called Push Projects.
The Pride festival
The first Warwickshire Pride was held in August 2013 and was attended by about 2,000 people.[1] It was part funded by Warwick District Council.
It was the brainchild of Daniel Browne, a local therapist and businessman, who also founded Push Projects]].[1]
Push Projects
Push projects is an LGBT youth support charity based in Warwick, but serving the whole of Warwickshire. It was founded in 2011 and is the brainchild of Daniel Browne, a psychotherapist with experience of working with young people and LGBT individuals.[2]
Push Projects started as a support group for people up to 25 identifying as LGBTQ. It has since expanded to provide telephone and e-mail support, and to deliver talks and workshops.[2]
Push Projects has provided consultancy to assist with the setting up of Warwickshire's sexual assault centre.[2]
Renaming
In November 2016 Pride Projects changed its name to Warwickshire Pride, to reflect the fact that it had increasingly been working with adults as well as young people.[3]
