The University of East London was founded in 1992, as the successor to the Polytechnic of East London, which itself had its origins in a number of older institutions. It has campuses in Stratford and Docklands. There was previously a campus in Barking.
LGBT societies
The University of East London LGBT Society was a member of the LGBT Consortium in 2012.[1]
