Stoke-on-Trent is a city and unitary authority in Staffordshire. It was historically a major centre for ceramic manufacturing, hence often referred to as "the Potteries". The city comprises six towns, including Stoke-upon-Trent (note different spelling) and Hanley.

LGBT history

There was a Stoke-on-Trent CHE Group in the 1970s.

LGBT Staffordshire is a charity supporting LGBT people in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.[1]

In 2003, Stoke Pride had to be cancelled because of the fear of a homophobic backlash, but it subsequently became an annual event.[2]

Staffordshire Police has an LGB&T Association.
