Lanarkshire shown within Scotland

Lanarkshire is a former county in Scotland. In 1975 it was absorbed into the Strathclyde region. Since the abolition of Strathclyde in 1996 the bulk of the former county is now divided between the counties of North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire and the city of Glasgow. There is a joint health board covering most of the former county area.

The former district of Clydesdale covers much the same area as Lanarkshire.
