Hambleton is a local government district in North Yorkshire. The main towns are Northallerton and Thirsk.
LGBT history
An e-petition by Josh Cunnington calling for the Government to create an LGBT Community Group for Northallerton was rejected as not falling within the Govenment's area of responsibility.[1]
Gay Men Talking has been a social and support group for gay an bisexual men, meeting twice a month in Northallerton.[2]
In January 2014 the MP for Thirsk and Malton, Anne McIntosh, was deselected by her local Conservative Association following a record of voting against equal marriage and other measures for LGBT equality.[3]
