Alexander McQueen, 2009

Alexander McQueen (Lee Alexander McQueen, 1969–2010) was a fashion designer.

McQueen was born in Lewisham[1] and went to school in Stratford, London.[2] On leaving school he worked as an apprentice tailor, later taking an MA degree in fashion design at Central St Martin School of Art and Design.

He was listed in the Pink List 2000. The citation said:

"If it were not for fellow Brits John Galliano and Stella McCartney, McQueen would be without peer in the rarefied world of haute couture. The London-born designer's shows in London and Paris are packed with ideas and conceived as pure theatre."[3]
