It began in the mid-1990s as the '''Salisbury Gay Men's Health Project'''. Its publication ''[[Coming Out and Staying Out]]'' was turned into a website in 1996. Soon afterwards, the project was taken over by Wessex Community Action, the website was much expanded, and the GMHP merged with groups in Swindon and Bath to become '''Gay Men's Health Wiltshire and Swindon'''. In 2007 it was renamed Men's Sexual Health and began providing more general health information.<ref name=history /><br />
